Exciting developments in #kickingcancersbutt

Ekkk... the team are just so excited to get started in our goal of #kickingcancersbutt. 
We now have our 'dream team' that are going to help us along the way, our panel which is full to the brim of leading experts. The panel is chaired by Claire Clarkin and will include Professor Mark Cragg, Professor Andrew Pitsillides, Dr Hannah Siddle, Professor Agi Griogoriadis, Professor Adrienne Flanagan, Dr Helen Owen, Mr Kenneth Rankin and Dr Steve Shnyder. We couldn't be more chuffed, we truly believe we have the best people to help us give the horrid disease that is Osteosarcoma a run for its money. 
Not only this but you could be part of this cutting-edge research! We have now opened applications for part-funded PhD positions to begin October 2018. Click here to find out more.

Fundraising Round-Up!

The amazing friends of Willberry have been busy again raising lots of money for our fabulous cause. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Have a look at what they've been up to;
 
  • Maddie Norris held a yoga class in aid of Hannah's Willberry Wonder Pony raising £232.
  • Scott Pirie who is the man behind Quality Highland Show Jumps kindly raffled one of his jumps for us raiding £252.29. Laura Gilliard was the lucky winner, Willberry was rather envious of the amazing jump!
  • Wombleberry tuned in all the knowledge he knew to help Jenny Livingstone, Alex McLeod and Nicola MacCallum from Achnalaig Stable raise a brilliant £250 from their Quiz Night.
  • Garston Veterinary Group held a Fun Ride which raised a huge £2245. 8 miles across the beautiful Mendip countryside, even with optional XC jumps for those who fancied it! All by kind permission of Mendip Plains Equestrian Centre.
  • South West u18 Eventer's held a Berry Auction and collection a  Frickley Park Horse Trials raising over £1600.

Berry-tastic Blair

Willberry and his team trucked almost the whole length of the country to make it to Blair, and they don't call it beautiful for no reason...
He had so much fun  telling everybody the story of his best friend, explaining the work that he now does every single day and of course being the fashionista - who else could choose the perfect colour scarf?
Not only this but meeting his huge family everyday at the Berry Crush's was like a crazy family get together. So many fantastic friends with wonderful stories to tell. Thank you if you were able to come along.
Where shall we Crush next?!

Fabulous Fundraising

The team and Willberry are always overwhelmed when we see what genius ideas you incredible people come up with to raise funds for our cause. Here's a little round up of some of the recent fundraising you guys have been up to:

  • Ever since Willberry heard that Charlotte and Vicky Wheeler donated £2000 from money raised at their Band in a Barn event he's been madly practicing his air guitar, a pony can have dreams hey!

  • Atherstone & District Ridng Club raised £1712 from all their hard working riders taking part in an eventathlon.

  • Margaret & Faye Denbeigh and Laura Paxton from Horseshoes Riding raised over £200 from their respective cake sales and coffee mornings, Willberry's summer bod has take a back seat for a little while....

  • Jane Willett took part in an achievement of a life time completing Newmarket Town Plate on her horse Deadline Day, raising £622 in sponsorship! Willberry reckons he'd have pretty good odds if he were to line up..!

  • Friend of Willberry, Jennifer Olivier, donated £1000 from her Rockstar Acadmeny. Jenny really is a rockstar as Willberry found out when he was delighted to award her with a wish, read about it here.

  • Buckets collections from Area Eventing, South Gloucester Show and Berkley Show raised over £500 with thanks to Ashford Valley Pony Club and Charlotte Trott for organising respectively.

  • Daisy Alban Jones has a whole heap of good karma coming her way as she donated £20 that she managed to find on the floor to our cause, Willberry feels very honoured!

  • Bryony Crowther's Annual Eventer's Charity Golf Day was hosted in aid of our charity. Willberry had many of his idols there, including the legend Chris Burton! The event raised £656 and Donnigton Vets who were supporting the event generously donated a further £500 - wow, thank you!

  • Vet's have been the theme as Stables Equine Practice donated £275 from their Open Evening celebrating their 20th Anniversary.

  • Severn Group Young Farmers kindly donated £500 from a rally that they held.

  • Den Gudgin and his team at Tewin Hill Farm had a busy day at their Annual Charity Show. With showing, dressage, showjumping, Chase me Charlie and the ever popular BBQ there really was something for everyone, and owed much of it's success to the army of smiley volunteers. After such a great day over 80 people enjoyed a pig roast into the evening. All this hard work was worth every second as £4335 was raised from the day. Gee whizz.
